Dr. John Lockley

Dr. John Lockley studied medicine at Cambridge and has been a GP in Ampthill, Bedfordshire since 1976. A committed Christian since the early sixties, he composed, performed and recorded modern Christian music for many years. He has made a large number of appearances in medical programmes on radio and TV. He now writes frequently for the medical press and is the author of many books and articles on a wide variety of subjects including computing, religion, medicine, and mental health, as well as three novels.  He is highly involved in medical computing and in teaching medical students and has recently been reappointed as a Recognised Clinical Teacher at Cambridge University.

Books

      • 'Real Thinking' - a book on how to think straight, economically, and effectively. (Just finished.)
      • 'The Day and the Time' - a collection of Christian short stories. (Recently completed)
      • A book on 'Christian maturity' (In preparation)
      • A book on Science, knowledge and Christianity (in preparation), provisionally entitled ‘The theory of everything’.

Music:

      • A rock opera/musical on the life of Martin Luther. Entitled 'Luther!', it was written in 1982 for a school orchestra (including rock band). If you would like to perform it, please let me know. Full score and parts are all available.
